As you all know in california we are no longer to talk on a cell phone while driving unless it is hands free... the other day we were in the office and i thought it would be fun to mess around with an idea we had heard about on the radio... here is my cheap hands free phone:

CHiPs
Remember these guys? I always thought it would be fun to be on CHiPs with Ponch and Jon Baker... well i had a chance to have a real life CHiPs experience. Over the past three days i have not only had the pleasure of meeting a real life CHiP once but twice. Yes i have been pulled over twice by CHP in the past three days! Once for a "Red Light Violation" and the other for a "Toll Road Violation". I was cited for neither of these violations, however each time i was cited for something considered a "Fix It" ticket. Is it the end of the month? Do CHP really have quotas? Here is a picture i took while i was being pulled over the second time. Enjoy.

The Most Amazing Soda Machine...
Yesterday we went to a 7-11 for a slurpee and in the process i saw the most amazing soda machine ever!!! Not only does it have 18 different sodas, but it has "flavor shot" buttons that you can press to turn any regular soda into a cherry, vanilla, or lemon soda! Amazingly enough it also has directions for people like me who wouldn't know what to do with it. Awesome!

Why I am a nerd...
Last week I was up at our school library and when I was packing up to go home, I looked at my backpack and realized, I am a nerd. If i could have taken a picture of me walking, stack of books falling out of my hands, backpack with coffee thermos and water, I would have but for now you will have to settle for this.

The importance of a laptop
When tossing back and forth about the future computer purchase i am going to make...(right now in the very distant future)... one thing came to my attention as we were in Old Testament II class.
Having a laptop in this class is essential for a few reasons:
1. Having the ability to type is much easier for me than to hand write things.
2. If one was to get bored, the ability to surf the "net" is an option.
3. Having e-mail handy is great.
4. Finally, trying to transport a desktop computer around is both awkward and difficult. This was most obvious as one of my fellow classmates Justin showed us today.
Oh man. So awesome! thank you for bringing enjoyment to my day.

Dear Michael...
Lets see here, where do I begin. Yesterday Megan and I went over to my mother-in-law's house to pick up what i thought were souvenirs from her recent trip to Daytona Beach. Megan painted the picture that she probably brought me a hat and Megan a key chain from the beautiful "Sunshine State". Little did I know that this was all a setup to what would ultimately be one of the sweetest gifts i have ever received.
When people ask, "If you could meet one famous person, who would it be?" My response is always Michael Jordan. While there are so many amazing people in history, he is one person that i have grown up watching and admiring for his basketball prowess. Therefore I would choose him.
Since I was a little lad I have always been a fan of basketball, I have played it since before my head had grown into my ears. And ever since I could remember my all-time basketball hero was Michael Jordan. I remember getting my first pair of "Air Jordans" in third grade. This would follow by many more years of spending a lot of money on basketball shoes so that hopefully i could "Be like Mike". Unfortunately my lack of athletic ability and lack of height hindered my Basketball Stardom from propelling me from high school to Division 1 basketball, to the NBA. However, my love for watching MJ never ceased. I remember a few of my good friends Dan and Chris and myself, would record the NBA championships when the Bulls would be playing and then replay the great moments of the games as we would prepare for our games. And thanks to some of their relatives in Chicago, when the Bulls would win the Championship, the front page of the Chicago Tribue would come to California. And this along with the sports section from the local LA Times and Orange County Register, I would save any and every article in relation to the Bulls and MJ.
As sad as this may be, hearing the bulls introduction and starting line up would give me chills and still to this day does... especially hearing the "From North Carolina, at Guard, 6'6", Michael Jordan" would get me so pumped that i would literally get chills. See video..
All that to say, last night, when i went over to my in-laws house last night, to my surprise a hat was not awaiting my arrival. It was Michael Jordan!... ok maybe not, however, I did receive a SWEET birthday present! An autographed ticket from the Daytona 200 that is signed "To Randy Happy Birthday Michael Jordan"!!!!!!
Jordan being the thrill seeker he is, is involved in bike racing and is good friends with a racer Jason Britton, who happens to be friends with my mother-in-law. All that to say Brenda pulled some strings and through some huge favors was able to get Mike to sign his ticket for me.
Anyway, This made my day and for the rest of the night I had a huge smile on my face and I am so stoked to have this!!!
So thank you to Brenda and to Michael! you both rock!
And that is a glimpse to my somewhat pathetic life :-)

its time again...
...to get off my lazy butt and write more useless information...
so today i was listening to a country song by Rodney Atkins entitled "Cleaning This Gun (Come on In Boy)" Now before some of you judge me... 1. yes i listen to country and 2. yes it is a choice.
With that being said, i felt like this song was preparing me to get ready for kids... and God willing one day i have a little girl, this is definitely something that will go on in the Craft household...
After reading that...I have two goals as a father when it comes time to dating my little girl.
1. To hopefully raise her right and instill in her the morals that a parent should, so that she chooses the right boys to like.
2. To make sure that whoever she dates... they will understand what it is like to have a healthy fear for their life... A fear only second to the reverent fear of God.
To my future daughter, I'm not sorry if your first dates don't go very well.

Come on in boy sit on down
And tell me about yourself
So you like my daughter do you now?
Yeah we think she's something else
She's her daddy's girl
Her momma's world
She deserves respect
That’s what she'll get
Now ain't it son?
Y’all go out and have some fun
I'll see you when you get back
Probably be up all night
Still cleanin' this gun
